A Beaver Scout Colony is for boys and girls who are aged between 6 and 8 years. Beaver Scouting is about:
• Having fun
• Making friends
• Keeping the promise
• Making progress
• Using a variety of groupings
Using a variety of methods, Beaver Scouts are guided to:
• Learn about themselves
• Get to know people
• Be creative
The Beaver animal lives in a lodge, and this system works equally well with young people! We divide our Colony into 4 lodges:
Each Beaver will be given a woggle to match the colour of their lodge.
Parental support – We need you
Because we are a voluntary run group, it is important that we have support from all parents if the group is to continue running as it should. We have a parent’s rota system, which involves infrequently attending meetings.
Please note that younger children are very welcome to attend with their parents, however toddlers are not allowed for their own safety .
The Scouting movement requires all parent helpers to complete a CRB check.
